About the Goldberg Center
The Diana L. and Stephen A. Goldberg Center is the largest provider of pediatric primary care services in the District of Columbia. Through the Goldberg Center's Division of General and Community Pediatrics, and the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine, approximately 30,000 patients, ages birth to 21, receive pediatric and adolescent primary care services at 80,000 yearly visits.
Interdisciplinary teams of clinicians, nurses, health educators, social workers, nutritionists, and others provide well and sick care, chronic disease management, family planning and reproductive health services, developmental and school readiness assessments, and other pediatric and adolescent preventative and therapeutic services. Ninety percent of the patients are Medicaid enrollees and 91 percent are from communities of color (78 percent African American and 13 percent Hispanic).
The Goldberg Center implements community-focused, culturally and linguistically competent clinical, education, research, and advocacy programs at five community-based health centers, two hospital-based health centers, and three mobile medical units.
